The 722.6 transmission uses clutch-to-clutch transitioning during shifts, so timing is very critical to prevent shift complaints like flares or bind-ups. The overlap valves, controlled by EPC (modulated pressure) and shift valve pressure, are used to gradually reduce the pressure to the disengaging clutch.
The replacement spring and valve ratios maintain OE shift pressures for proper timing and function.
The oversized hard-coat anodized valve has slightly longer critical spool diameters and optimized annular groove placement for better hydraulic sealing and to prevent future bore wear.
The wear-resistant plunger sleeve has an added O-ring to provide additional positive sealing in the bore
Symptoms:
• 2-3 Bump

• Slipping
Cause:
Wear at the overlap valve bore prevents proper exhaust of the disengaging clutch pressure, altering the precise timing required in the clutch-to-clutch shift transition.
Correction:
